AUTHOR’S HIGHLIGHTS

Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Frank Barry spent his youth in the rural Catskill Mountains of New York. Attracted to city life, he spent the next eight years at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, in the psychology program at Georgetown College and the School of Medicine.

After the untimely death of his parents, he married in 1981 in Portola Valley, California. With his wife Mary he moved to sunny Colorado Springs, Colorado and medical practice. He sat on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Academy of Family Practice and served as President of the El Paso County Medical Society of Colorado Springs.

Worldwide study and travel to China, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, India, Viet Nam, Thailand and Russia rounded out his worldview.

The call to writing came soon after. His initial book, a non-fiction medical work titled Make the Change for a Healthy Heart, received a warm reception from doctors and the public. After the follow-up non-fiction The Healthy Heart Formula, he turned his concentration to A Trio of Lies.

Now available for the first time is the China Trilogy, dissecting our strongest international rival the People's Republic of China. Book One, Red Rebellion, is published and concerns Frank Thro's battle against agroterrorism in rural China. Book Two, Righteous Fists, is recently published and follows Frank Thro's discovery of bioterrorism, when his newborn son dies unexpectedly. Book Three, Greatest Games, introduces gene doping to the Beijing Games of 2008.

He is a member of Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers and Pikes Peak Writers. He attended the Pikes Peak Writers Conference in Colorado Springs and the Rocky Mountain Writers Conference in Denver. He enjoys the interest in both his fiction and non-fiction works.

When not writing, practicing medicine or playing the accordion, he enjoys active sports like mountain biking and skiing, a passion that he shares with his family.
